ISLAMABAD: Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the United States (US) of America Andrew Schofer called on Finance Minister of Pakistan Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar to discuss bilateral trade in Islamabad on Wednesday.
They discussed ways to enhance bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties between the two countries.
He also informed him about the on-going IMF program and assured him of the Government’s commitment to complete the program.
Taking to Twitter, Ministry of Finance also confirmed meeting between the US diplomat and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
It wrote, “H.E. Mr. Andrew Schofer, Charge’d Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America called on Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar,today and exchanged views on further expanding bilateral economic, trade and investment ties between the two countries,”.
The Finance Minister briefed the US Charge d’ Affaires about the current challenges faced by the country and the recent difficult policy decisions taken to stabilize the economy and ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.
Senator Ishaq Dar thanked the US Charge d’ Affaires and reiterated the desire of the government to further expand bilateral trade and investment ties with the United States.

The US Charge d’ Affaires expressed confidence in the policies and programs of the Government of Pakistan for economic stability and extended his support to advance the existing economic and trade relations between both the countries.
