In a tragic incident, Azam Chandio, a dedicated official from the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs, passed away due to a heart attack while performing his duties in the Arafat plain during the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Chandio, who served as a Private Secretary in the Ministry, was on duty alongside the Hajj DG when he tragically succumbed to the heart attack.
Ministry Delegation Assessing Pilgrim Arrangements:
Following the untimely demise of Azam Chandio, a senior delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs has traveled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of their visit is to assess the arrangements made for the 157,000 Pakistani pilgrims participating in the sacred pilgrimage.
Continuous Assistance Provided by Pakistan Hajj Mission:
The Pakistan Hajj Mission, responsible for the well-being and support of the Pakistani pilgrims, has established two camp offices to provide uninterrupted assistance. These camp offices cater to various needs of the pilgrims, including lost and found items, guidance, handling complaints, and a dedicated monitoring desk, ensuring round-the-clock support.
Successful Completion of Wuquf-e-Arafa Ritual:
Recently, the Wuquf-e-Arafat, a significant ritual of the Hajj pilgrimage, took place in the plain of Arafat. Pilgrims from Pakistan and around the world gathered to observe this crucial stage of the pilgrimage, which symbolizes unity and devotion. The successful completion of this ritual marked a significant milestone for the Pakistani pilgrims.
Return to Maximum Capacity Amidst the Pandemic:
This year’s Hajj pilgrimage stands as a remarkable event as it was the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic that the pilgrimage was able to accommodate its maximum capacity. With an estimated 1.8 million pilgrims from all over the world participating, the return to full capacity showcases the resilience and determination of the global Muslim community.
