Indian soldier singing Pakistani Qawali goes viral  

A video clips of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) duo singing Pakistani Qawali won hearts on the social media on Tuesday.

Mrityunjay Kumar Rai and Himanshu, the soldiers who had been deputed in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, were seen singing Qawali and the local Kashmiri songs. They not just performed Qawali and sung Kashmiri songs but also performed “Dholak” and “Harmoniam”

Both the soldiers wrapped in CRFP have their own instruments and use them to sing Qawalis,  Indian songs but also Kashmir folk songs.  The voice, rhythm and passion while performing the art have won them huge appreciation as the CRFP laud their talent.

Mrityunjay Kumar Rai and Himanshu who had been in the Occupied Kashmir for last five years learnt Kashmiri language, the traditional music and started singing.

Mrityunjay Kumar is the resident of Bihar became very popular on the social media as his magic of singing attracts hearts towards him and the people who start listening to him want him not to stop.

They also sang Indian song, “Ashi Surat Ko Sanwarne ki Zurat kiya hey, Sadgi me bhe Qiayamt ki ada hoti hey,”.

“I love singing Kashmiri songs,” said Mrityunjay Kumar while talking to a local news organization. He stated that he had passion for singing since his childhood as had support from his home. He said he also learnt classical music.

“Five years ago when I came to Kashmir I started to realize that the Kashmiri song are so sweet and heart-touching because their composition is amazing,” said the soldier, adding “it is quite different when I hear the kashmiri music and its composition. So, I thought to prepare these songs and I started doing it, and now I sing,”.

Himanshu assists him on “tabla”.

“I have been here in Kashmir for last five years. And I learnt a new language after coming here. I closely observed the traditional Kashmiri music, felt it, tried and learnt it,” said Himanshu.
