Zardari jailed for 12 years but no suo motu notice was taken: Bilawal

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his father was jailed for 12 years but no chief justice took notice of his and did not call him to the court.

“When Quaide-e-Awam was appearing before the courts no one called him “good to see you” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing the party workers on Saturday.

He said that they tackled the head of “Muttahida” leader so what was the worth of Imran Khan. Zardari, he said, was subjected to torture but no suo motu notice was taken at that time.

“We ended the politics of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and fought against the dictatorship, so what is the worth of Imran Khan,” said the PPP chairman. The PPP workers, he said, faced injustice. He stated that they never restored to violent protests.

He made it clear that they did not fear of elections and confident that they would beat their rivals through the power of vote.

When Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was killed they could have said that the killer was sitting in their in the president house but they did not said so even at that time.

“This political terrorist has facilitators everywhere. He claims himself brave but wears “iron shields”.  The leaders should be brave like Benazir Bhutto,” he added.

Talking about Karsaaz incident, Bilawal said that his mother was a brave leader who despite many threats continued his struggle.

“On other hand, Kaptan [skipper] could not spend one night in jail. He stayed at guest house,” said the PPP Chairman, calling Imran Khan “Coward” as nothing happened to this man so far.

“Skipper shivers while going to the jail where he sent Zardari and Faryal Talpur,” said Bilawal, adding that when he appeared before the court he told the court that let him go to the bathroom as he could not go to the bathroom for last 24 hours.

“What kind of leader he is ?,” asked the PPP chairman.

He stated that Imran Khan resorted to political terrorism.

The PPP chairman said that they were ready for the talks but could not hold talks with the terrorists, adding that “they must distance themselves from the terrorists”.

Bilawal also talked about his Indian visit, saying that he gave befitting reply to the Indian on their soil.

“We presented Pakistan’s case before India on its soil,” he added. The narrative of these people [PTI], he said, was like the narrative of BJP. He clarified that he represented Pakistan in India instead of his party.

“When I was asked about Imran Khan’s visit to Russia I defended him there in the US,” he added. PPP, he said, rejected their politics of polarization. He promised to end the politics of division.
