Renowned Indian cricket player Virat Kohli has heaped praise on Pakistan’s batting sensation, Babar Azam, hailing him as one of the best batters in the world across different types of cricket matches.
Kohli showed his respect and talked about his first encounter with Babar Azam in a recent interview. Looking back on their initial meeting, Kohli said, “I first met him [Babar] during the 2019 ODI World Cup after a match in Manchester.” He went on to explain their connection, saying, “I’ve known Imad [Wasim] since the Under-19 World Cup, and he mentioned that Babar wanted to have a conversation.”
Describing their chat, Kohli stated, “We sat down and talked about the game. Right from the start, I sensed a feeling of respect from him, which has remained unchanged. Despite being possibly the best batsman worldwide in various formats, he remains down-to-earth.”
Virat Kohli highlighted Babar’s impressive consistency and mentioned how he enjoys watching Babar play. Babar Azam’s exceptional performance is evident from his top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, with a remarkable rating of 886 points. In comparison, Kohli is positioned ninth with 705 points.
