ISLAMABAD: In a court hearing held in the federal capital, it was revealed that renowned TikToker Sandal Khattak had filmed her former friend, TikToker Hareem Shah, with the latter’s consent. The disclosure came as Khattak sought post-arrest bail in the Shah video leak case, and the judge, after considering the arguments, granted her bail.
During the hearing, Khattak’s statement on Tuesday contradicted her earlier claim, where she had denied filming Shah’s videos. The lawyer representing Khattak informed the court that his client had not received any prior notice before two cases were registered against her, asserting that Hareem Shah had filed First Information Reports (FIRs) against Sandal Khattak in Lahore and Peshawar.
The lawyer further highlighted that Khattak’s videos were live-streamed and not uploaded as recorded content on social platforms. He emphasized that no evidence had been obtained from Sandal Khattak’s mobile phone, and he also emphasized that TikTok’s policies prohibit the uploading of illicit videos.
Additionally, the lawyer stated that Hareem Shah had been filmed while laughing, suggesting that the videos were shot with her consent. He argued that no incriminating evidence was found against his client during her custody, and she was no longer required for further interrogation.
Moreover, the lawyer raised concerns regarding the handling of the case, mentioning that despite Khattak’s phone being seized, Hareem Shah’s cell phone was not secured by the authorities.
After considering the arguments presented, the judge granted bail to Sandal Khattak, who had been recently arrested following the dismissal of her earlier bail plea.
The case involving the video leak has garnered significant attention, as both Sandal Khattak and Hareem Shah are prominent figures in the TikTok community. This recent development of Khattak admitting to filming Shah with her consent adds a new dimension to the ongoing legal proceedings.

The court’s decision to grant bail to Sandal Khattak will allow her to be released from custody, although the legal battle is expected to continue. The case has raised questions about privacy, consent, and the responsible use of social media platforms, highlighting the need for clear guidelines and regulations in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
As the story continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will progress and what implications this case will have on the use of social media platforms in Pakistan.
