ISLAMABAD: The nation observed ‘Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan’ on Thursday, a day dedicated to honoring the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice while safeguarding the country and its people.
The main ceremony took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Military in Rawalpindi.
Present at the event were Chief of Army, General Asim Munir, retired General Qamar Javed Bajwa, former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee, retired General Nadeem Raza, families of the martyrs, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, law enforcement personnel, students, teachers, and various individuals from the community. Floral wreaths were laid at the martyrs’ monument as a mark of respect.
Additionally, commemorative ceremonies took place at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Naval Headquarters to honor the martyrs.
Across the country, numerous events featuring Quran khwani (recitation of the Quran) and prayers were organized to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
These gatherings provided a platform for the nation to honor the unyielding spirit and unwavering dedication of the martyrs, who served in the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, Police, and other law enforcement agencies.
Multiple commemorative ceremonies took place at martyrs’ memorials to express reverence and gratitude.

Earlier, the military leadership paid profound tribute to the nation’s martyrs who laid down their lives in defense of Pakistan.
The sacrifices made by the martyrs will endure for eternity and serve as an everlasting inspiration for future generations of fellow countrymen. They will never be forgotten, despite the vicious propaganda spread by Pakistan’s enemies,” stated a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
