Renowned medic Dr. Saeed Akhtar alleges in the video that former CJP Nisar had threatened him of take suo motu notice over low salary of his brother.
Lahore: Dr. Saeed Akhtar, a renowned medic who headed Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre, claimed that former Chief of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar threatened him of taking suo motu notice over low pay of his own brother Dr. Sajid Nisar.
“My brother gets Rs135,000 and how are you offering Rs10,00,000 to others,” said Dr. Akhtar while quoting former CJP Nisar in the interview with journalist Matiullah Jan.
The video clip of the interview has now been re-tweeted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on its Twitter account at the moment when the coalition government-led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is demanding formation of full court for hearing of the Punjab-KPK election delay case.
Dr. Akhtar said that he respectably told the then CJP that his brother was getting Rs135,000 and was earning money through the practice in the evening.
“It is requirement of the Centre of Excellence that our doctors cannot practice outside the institute,” said Dr. Saeed Akhtar, claiming that “this thing infuriated him [the then CJP], will see you people and gave directions that Health Secretary and the Chief Secretary be called here,” said the doctor.
Dr. Matiullah Jan, the interviewer, asked Dr. Akhtar if all it happened at the residence of the former CJP to which he said, “Yes, at his residence,”.
“That was the time when things became uncomfortable and then we thought that we should excuse,” said Dr. Saeed Akhtar.
Dr. Huma Saif, a user on the Twitter, initially shared the video clip of the interview, and quoted the alleged statement of former CJP that he would take suo motu against [Dr. Saeed Akhtar] because his brother was taking low salary from him.
The user also raised a question, “Whether Saqib Nisar will be booked in the case of misusing his powers and authority or that the judges have blanket immunity,”.
In the recent public gatherings, PML-N senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz criticized former Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar and held him responsible for disqualification of her father Nawaz Sharif. She also gave him different names like “Baba Rehmatay”, “Dam wala Baba” and “Baba Zehmatay”.
