Pakistan received 1st Lamborghini Urus at Karachi port

Pakistan has recently welcomed its first Lamborghini Urus at Karachi Port, amidst the country’s high inflation rate. The luxury SUV was imported by Sunshine Trading Pakistan, a renowned company specialising in luxury and exotic car imports, and the company shared a video of the car on its way to Pakistan with excitement.

The Lamborghini Urus, which made its global debut in December 2017, is a midsize luxury crossover SUV and the Italian automaker’s first and only SUV to date. It is built on the Volkswagen Audi Group’s (VAG) MLB Evo platform, which is also used by other luxury SUVs such as the Audi Q7, Q8, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga, and Volkswagen Touareg. The Lamborghini Urus is equipped with a formidable VAG EA-series twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine, generating an impressive output of 641 horsepower (hp) and 850 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The power is transmitted to all four wheels through a ZF 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The performance of the Lamborghini Urus is nothing short of impressive. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 306 km/h, making it a true super-SUV that embodies power, speed, style, and luxury. However, all this performance and luxury comes at a hefty price tag. The starting price of the Lamborghini Urus in Pakistan is approximately Rs. 66 million (Rs. 6.6 crores), and with additional options and accessories, the price can go up to Rs. 80 million (Rs. 8 crores) or even more. Considering the taxes and duties involved in importing such luxury vehicles, the total cost could exceed Rs. 150 million (Rs. 15 crores).

It’s worth noting that while the claim of this being Pakistan’s “first” Lamborghini Urus may be disputed. Nevertheless, the recent arrival of the Lamborghini Urus at Karachi Port has certainly caught the attention of automotive enthusiasts in Pakistan, as the luxury SUV represents an epitome of opulence and performance.

The Lamborghini Urus has garnered a significant following around the world since its launch, and its arrival in Pakistan is a testament to the growing demand for luxury and exotic cars in the country. Despite the challenging economic conditions and high inflation rate in Pakistan, there is still a niche market for high-end automobiles, with affluent individuals and collectors willing to invest in exclusive and high-performance vehicles like the Lamborghini Urus.

The introduction of the Lamborghini Urus in Pakistan also reflects the evolving automotive landscape in the country, with luxury car brands expanding their presence and catering to the discerning tastes of affluent consumers. It also highlights the increasing trend of importing exotic cars into Pakistan, with specialized importers like Sunshine Trading Pakistan catering to the growing demand for luxury and high-performance vehicles.

However, the importation of luxury cars also raises concerns about environmental impact and sustainability, as these high-performance vehicles tend to have higher fuel consumption and emissions compared to conventional cars. In a time when global efforts are focused on combating climate change and reducing carbon footprint, it’s crucial for the automotive industry and consumers to prioritize sustainability and opt for more eco-friendly options, even in the luxury segment.

With a responsible approach, the introduction of luxury cars like the Lamborghini Urus can coexist with sustainability and contribute positively to the automotive industry in Pakistan.
