Washington: Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, lauded the US lawmakers and politicians of Pakistani descent for making the Pakistani diaspora and Pakistan proud.
Masood Khan said that these individuals were not only dynamic and possess strong leadership qualities, but they also served as a bridge between the two countries.
During a recent telephonic conversation with newly elected Texas House Member, Salman Bhojani, Ambassador Masood Khan congratulated him on successfully introducing a landmark resolution in the Texan State Assembly to recognize ‘Pakistan Day of Action at the State Capitol’ on the occasion of Pakistan Day. This, he said, reflects the strength of the Pak-US relationship.
Representative Salman Bhojani expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s kind words and reiterated his commitment to serving both his homeland and motherland in every possible way. He also informed the Ambassador of his contributions during flood relief activities in Pakistan, which had affected over 33 million people.
Bhojani said that the passage of the resolution by the Texan state assembly was an acknowledgment of the Pakistani community’s contributions to the socio-economic development of Texas and the United States as a whole.
Ambassador Masood Khan encouraged Bhojani to use his networks to connect professionals and business leaders and to promote people-to-people exchanges. He also suggested that Bhojani visit Pakistan with a delegation comprising lawmakers, professionals, and others to promote better understanding and linkages between the two countries.
Besides it, Ambassador Khan proposed the possibility of a sister state-province relationship between Texas and a province in Pakistan.
The Ambassador assured Representative Salman Bhojani of the Embassy of Pakistan and its Consulates’ full support in his mission to serve his community and bring the two countries closer together.
