Maryam claims facilitators want Imran Khan’s return to avoid accountability

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that there was only one man Imran Khan who became hurdle in the way of country’s development, saying that the facilitators wanted to bring him back to power to avoid accountability.

“These people want to bring that person who destroyed the country’s economy and caused damage to the country’s foreign relations,” said the PML-N, lashing out at the incumbent Chief Justice of Pakistan and other judges of the top court.

She was addressing the party workers in connection with the gathering regarding Labours’ Day in Lahore on Monday.

Maryam Nawaz said that when Nawaz Sharif was in the power he did not let the prices go up for the labourers. The projects like the Motorway were benefiting the poor. “If bread price today is Rs25 then who will be held responsible,” said Maryam Nawaz, adding that it was not just Khan but there was a gang who caused damage to the country.

He said that former Chief Justice Khosa extended support to Imran Khan and subsequently Nawaz Sharif was ousted from the power.

“Today once again, a SC three-member bench came forward to rescue Imran Khan. The bench started hearing the case of the Lahore High Court without any reason. The economy is in trouble,” said Maryam Nawaz while lashing out at the top court judges.

“Justice Athar Minallah raised the question about the dissolution of the assemblies,” she said while quoting the proceedings of the case related to the elections.

She alleged that Imran Khan knew that the facilitators were sitting in the Supreme Court to facilitate him. She also questioned the suo motu notices, saying that not only the public but the judges within the top court also objected to the notices.

“These were the brother judges who raised voice against this injustice and then the bar councils,” said Maryam Nawaz, questioning Imran Khan as to why he dissolved the assemblies. “We will not let your plan be successful,” said Maryam Nawaz, adding that the paper was out.  She also came down hard upon former CJP Saqib Nisar, saying that he was still supporting Imran Khan.

“Saqib Nisar’s son is involved in corruption of Rs120m,” alleged Maryam, calling the former CJP “thief”. She asked the former CJP to explain that how much he took to disqualify Nawaz Sharif when his son was taking millions for the tickets of PTI.

“His son [Saqib’s] studied abroad but what language he is using,” she added.

The PML-N Chief organizer lashed out at the judiciary saying that the justice was being sold out against millions of rupees which was the main reason that the labourers were suffering now in the country. She also mentioned the mother-in-law of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, saying that “look what millions of people are saying about him [the incumbent CJP]].

Talking about the privacy rights, Maryam Nawaz said that the conversation between the CJP’s mother-in-law and the wife of Khawaja Tariq Rahim was involving the justice system, so if it was leaked it was not violation of the privacy laws.

Nawaz Sharif, she said, worked hard for the labourers to support them while this man [Imran Khan] along with his wife opened his watch shop.  She stated that the nation was waiting for the decisions despite that serious allegations surfaced against them.

“These people [these judges] are still sitting there despite that serious allegations were levelled against them,” said the PML-N chief organizer. “Fitna was taking out rallies in the name of the labourers. You just stop hatching conspiracies against the country and the situation of the laborers will be better,” she added.
