Man Sent to Jail Over Second Marriage Without First Wife’s Consent

he family court in a local area has given a punishment to a person who got married again without asking his first wife. The judge, named Adnan Liaqat, made this decision after hearing a case brought by Zona Nasr against her husband, Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan.

The court said that Aurangzeb Khan married someone else without getting permission from his first wife, which is required by law. They explained that according to Section 6 of the Muslim Family Law Ordinance, it’s necessary to have written permission from the first wife before marrying again.

Because Aurangzeb Khan didn’t ask for permission before marrying again, the court said he broke the law. As a result, they sentenced him to seven months in jail. Additionally, he was fined Rs500,000.

The court also warned that if Aurangzeb Khan doesn’t pay the fine, he’ll have to spend another month in jail.
