Javed Latif accuses Imran Khan of undermining state institutions

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Javed Latif on Saturday accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of orchestrating the violent acts that have taken place over the past few days, including the attack on Jinnah House in Lahore.

The Prime Minister described the perpetrators as trained miscreants.

Talking to the media, Latif announced that they would be organizing gatherings and meetings to expose Imran Khan’s true intentions, stating that the PTI Chairman wants to undermine state institutions.

Latif expressed his disappointment that Imran Khan, who is alleged to have been involved in corruption worth sixty billion rupees, is still being shown respect by the courts. He called for those who attacked military installations and other buildings, such as Radio Pakistan Peshawar, to be held accountable under the law. He described these violent acts as an attempt to overthrow the state.

In another development, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb addressed Imran Khan’s recent arrest by the NAB, saying that if he is innocent, he should present himself for accountability. Aurangzeb stated that the government had nothing to do with Imran Khan’s arrest and that the PML-N did not believe in vengeance. She also criticized the PTI’s reaction to the arrest, claiming that they had planned the violence in advance and incited it in targeted places.

Aurangzeb went on to say that evidence had been collected, and all those involved in or behind the violence would be identified and held accountable. When asked about the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s planned protest on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad on Monday, she stated that it would be peaceful. The PML-N-led coalition government has amended the NAB laws to facilitate the accused persons, and Imran Khan is the first beneficiary of these amendments, she added.
