Cabinet members ask PM to impose emergency in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The majority of the cabinet members suggested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to impose emergency in the country, the sources privy to the development said on Friday.

The sources said that the members of the cabinet expressed serious concerns over the situation that emerged after the arrest of Imran Khan on May 9.

“Impose emergency due to the situation arising out of the recent events,” said the sources while quoting the members of the cabinet present in the cabinet meeting.

They said the security situation in the country is going out of control and the Prime Minister should take action. However, the Prime Minister said that he wanted to consult with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and other allies before making any decisions without consultation.

They made these suggestions before the session of the cabinet meeting that took place before 4pm earlier today.

The suggestion came at the moment few hours ago the Punjab government extended the date of Section 144 across the province while Islamabad police said that the violent protests were still continued at Sri-Nagar road in the federal capital.

Imran Khan is fascist dictator: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Imran Niazi is a fascist dictator and the judiciary erected a steel wall to protect him.

The Prime Minister said that the country is going through difficult times and we are trying to control the situations we are inheriting. The floods, inflation, and market recession have caused difficulties.

He made these remarks in response to the suggestions of the cabinet members during the meeting in Islamabad on Friday.

The PM said that Imran Khan and his companions were constantly telling lies, Imran Khan was praying for the country to default, the NAB filed corruption cases against Imran Khan, billions of rupees of corruption occurred during Imran Khan’s tenure, and Imran Niazi was acquitted in the Mallam Jabba clean chit case.

The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that opposition leaders were sent to jail in false cases, has any court taken notice of this? Imran Niazi is a fascist dictator and the judiciary has erected a steel wall to protect him.

The sources said that the cabinet meeting would be convened again in which the cabinet members would deliberate on the said suggestion.
