PAKvNZ: Islamabad IGP vows to provide world-class security to New Zealand team

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police are fully prepared to provide the New Zealand cricket team with end-to-end world-class security during their tour to Pakistan.

The foreign team are expected to reach Pakistan today (April 9) for their upcoming series, which will begin on April 14 in Lahore. On the other hand, the police had previously refused to provide security, claiming that they did not have enough resources and that it was the responsibility of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide resources.

However, the Inspector General of Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan has assured that the Islamabad police had provided flawless security during the visits of the English cricket team and the eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2022-23.
