Talks underway on IMF’s last condition, says PM Shehbaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday said that the his government accepted all the conditions of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and talks were under with on the last condition.

The PM made this revelation while chairing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentary party meeting at the parliament house in Islamabad.

The meeting took place at the moment when the top court is hearing an important case of elections delay in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that China did investment of Rs30 billion in Pakistan.

“We always took the country out of crises. There are huge complications but our intention is clear,” said the PM, adding that he was hopeful that the days would come when the situation would be changed.

Shehbaz Sharif held Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as responsible for the inflation in the country due to its agreement with the country.  

“Imran Khan put Pakistan into trouble as he signed the agreement with IMF by accepting its hard conditions,” said the PM.

He raised a question that what was the connection of Imran Khan’s individual stance with the policy of the government. He stated that the judges were threatened during the PTI government.

Shehbaz Sharif said that they sacrificed their politics for the sake of the country.

The government, he said, was bound by Imran Khan’s agreement with IMF. However, he said that the brother countries were helping Pakistan during these difficult times.

PM said when they came into power the floods hit the a huge part of the country and Rs100 allocated for the affected areas.

He stated that his party and the government both were determined to take the country out of crises. The PM also discussed the strategies as to how they could deal with all political, legal and economic challenges.
