Pakistan Says 331 Taliban Terrorists Killed in Cross-Border Operation in Afghanistan

Pakistan on Saturday said its armed forces had killed 331 Taliban terrorists in a large-scale cross-border military operation launched in response to what officials described as unprovoked attacks from Afghanistan.

In a statement shared on X, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that as of 9am, at least 331 Afghan Taliban, members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and other militants had been killed, while more than 500 were injured during the ongoing operation.

According to the minister, Pakistani forces destroyed 104 Taliban posts, captured 22 positions, and destroyed 163 tanks and armoured personnel carriers. He added that air strikes were carried out at 37 locations inside Afghan territory.

Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq Intensifies

Pakistani officials said the operation — named Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq — was initiated against armed groups affiliated with the Afghan Taliban that had allegedly carried out repeated attacks on Pakistani soil.

Security sources reported that intense fighting continued overnight, with both ground and air forces engaged in multiple sectors. The Pakistan Air Force carried out targeted strikes on what were described as brigade and battalion headquarters of Afghan Taliban forces stationed in Nangarhar province.

Pakistani troops also reportedly captured and destroyed the New Afghan 8 position, while another Taliban position in the Noshki sector was destroyed during the operation.

Strikes in Nangarhar and Kandahar

According to security sources, air strikes were also conducted against Afghan Taliban positions in Kandahar province, where an alleged Afghan army headquarters was destroyed.

Two additional targets at the Mohmand Dara base in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province were successfully struck, officials said.

Pakistani authorities claim that the Afghan Taliban regime is facing heavy casualties and significant military losses as a result of the ongoing operation. They maintain that the action is part of a decisive response to cross-border aggression and is aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure threatening Pakistan’s security.

The situation along the border remains tense, with hostilities continuing as both sides exchange claims of heavy losses. Independent verification of casualty figures has not yet been possible.
