The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed for hearing the miscellaneous applications seeking early proceedings on the suspension of sentences of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case.
According to court officials, the IHC registrar scheduled the applications for hearing on Thursday. The case will be heard by IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan.
While the main appeal regarding suspension of sentence has not yet been fixed, the court will take up the miscellaneous pleas requesting early hearing. The last proceedings in the suspension of sentence matter were held on September 26, 2025.
Separately, the PTI founder has also filed a petition in the IHC seeking suspension of sentence and bail in the Toshakhana-II case, commonly referred to as the Bulgari set case. Another application has been moved for early scheduling of the sentence suspension plea in the £190 million reference.
Earlier this month, two separate bail petitions were submitted in the high court on behalf of Imran Khan by Barrister Salman Safdar and Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry.
The petitions argue that Imran Khan is suffering from a serious medical condition affecting his right eye. According to the plea, Dr. Muhammad Arif of PIMS diagnosed a blood clot that has severely impacted his vision, reducing it to approximately 15 percent. The petition maintains that proper medical treatment cannot be adequately provided in jail.
The application further states that the former prime minister is 73 years old and has sought relief on medical grounds along with suspension of sentence.
