Jeffrey Epstein Estate Nears $35 Million Settlement in Victims’ Lawsuit

The estate of Jeffrey Epstein has agreed in principle to a $35 million settlement in a class action case alleging that two of his longtime advisers helped facilitate his sex-trafficking network.

According to court filings, the proposed agreement aims to resolve claims brought on behalf of women who say they were abused or trafficked by Epstein between 1995 and his death in a New York jail in August 2019.

Attorneys from Boies Schiller Flexner, representing the accused advisers, confirmed that the settlement paperwork has been submitted in federal court in Manhattan. However, the deal will only take effect after receiving approval from a judge.

The lawsuit names Epstein’s former personal attorney Darren Indyke and his longtime accountant Richard Kahn, both of whom act as co-executors of the late financier’s estate. Plaintiffs alleged that the two men played a role in enabling Epstein’s operations over the years.

Under the terms outlined in the filing, the estate would pay $35 million if at least 40 eligible claimants take part in the settlement. If fewer individuals qualify, the payout would be reduced to $25 million.

Legal representatives for Indyke and Kahn emphasized that their clients have not admitted to any wrongdoing. They stated that the decision to mediate and reach a potential agreement was intended to bring closure to ongoing civil claims. Both men have consistently denied any criminal involvement.

Court records further reveal that Epstein’s estate has already distributed approximately $121 million through a victims’ compensation program. In addition, around $49 million has been paid out in separate settlements.

The proposed agreement marks another significant step in the long-running legal fallout surrounding Epstein’s crimes, as victims continue to seek accountability and financial redress years after his death.
