Two International Airlines to Launch Direct Passenger and Cargo Flights to Pakistan

In a significant development aimed at boosting regional connectivity, two international airlines are set to launch new passenger and cargo flights between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries.

According to reports, the new routes will include twice-weekly passenger flights operated with Airbus A320 aircraft. In addition, cargo carrier My Freighter is scheduled to begin dedicated freight operations to Karachi, enhancing trade logistics and increasing cargo movement between the two nations.

The move follows high-level discussions focused on improving bilateral cooperation. During a recent visit to Pakistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of establishing direct air links to promote trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Officials say the new air routes are expected to facilitate smoother business travel, improve logistics channels, and support growing commercial exchange between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Enhanced connectivity is also likely to benefit exporters and importers by reducing transit times and transportation costs.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, Founder and CEO of Centrum Holding, termed the initiative more than just a route expansion. He described it as the creation of a “sustainable air bridge” designed to foster long-term regional cooperation and stimulate economic activity.

The launch of these flights marks another step toward deeper economic integration between Central and South Asia, with aviation playing a key role in strengthening cross-border trade and investment opportunities.
