13 Pakistani nationals arrested in Saudi Arabia over livestock theft charges
Saudi authorities have arrested 13 Pakistani nationals in Taif on charges linked to a series of livestock theft incidents, marking another significant law-enforcement sweep amid an ongoing nationwide crackdown on illegal activities. According to Saudi media, the group was detained for allegedly stealing sheep in multiple cases recorded across the region, prompting officials to take swift action. Reports added that the suspects have now been transferred to the Public Prosecution after the completion of all preliminary legal procedures.
Saudi newspapers stated that the individuals were believed to be involved in several coordinated theft operations, raising concerns among local livestock owners who had earlier reported repeated incidents of missing animals. The arrests highlight what officials describe as a growing vigilance across various regions to curb theft-related offences and safeguard community assets. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the investigation, but sources suggest more arrests could follow if additional suspects are identified.
In a separate development, Saudi police recently dismantled a prostitution ring operating from a residential apartment in Najran city, arresting 12 expatriates in a coordinated operation. The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that the detained group comprised five men and seven women, all apprehended during a joint raid carried out by the Najran Regional Police’s Special Task and Duties Force and the General Administration for Community Security and Human Trafficking Control. Officials noted that the action was part of a broader campaign targeting illegal, immoral, and unregulated activities across the kingdom as authorities continue to step up surveillance and enforcement measures.
The latest arrests further reflect Saudi Arabia’s intensified efforts to clamp down on criminal networks and maintain public order, particularly in regions where theft, fraud, and unlicensed operations have shown periodic spikes. Law-enforcement agencies have urged residents to report suspicious activity as investigations into similar cases remain underway.
