ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi held a meeting with Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir in Islamabad, quoting the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the high-level talks, the two sides discussed regional security, counter-terrorism, and matters of mutual interest. Both reaffirmed their determination to strengthen the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and enhance coordination at regional and international platforms.

Wang Yi reiterated China’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development, while Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed gratitude for Beijing’s consistent assistance in strengthening Pakistan’s defense and socio-economic stability.

The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to advancing peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, reflecting the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China partnership.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, highlighting the importance of CPEC Phase-II for Pakistan’s economic growth and regional connectivity. The prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to deepening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, ICT, agriculture, and industrialization.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for China on its core issues, expressing appreciation for Beijing’s consistent role in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and development.
