Arid University student Kinza murdered by cousin: Toba Tek Singh police crack case

Arid University student Kinza murdered by cousin

TOBA TEK SINGH – In a shocking revelation, the Toba Tek Singh police ‘solve’ murder mystery of varsity student Kinza, a 19-year-old student from Agriculture University Rawalpindi, whose body was found dumped on the roadside in Jhang on Faisalabad Road.

The case sent shockwaves across Punjab as police confirmed that the accused was none other than her cousin, Tayyab Idrees, who allegedly harbored romantic feelings for Kinza. According to the FIR registered by her father Anwar Ali, Tayyab lured Kinza into his car while she was returning from university by bus. He then raped, poisoned, and murdered her before discarding her body near the village.

The case has been registered under serious charges: Sections 302 (murder), 376 (rape), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The Jhang Satellite Town police reported that Tayyab has confessed to the crime during interrogation. His motive stemmed from a rejected marriage proposal that turned into a deadly obsession. This horrifying incident has raised questions about gender-based violence and safety of women in Pakistan, especially students traveling between cities.
