Humaira Asghar Post-Mortem Report Reveals Harrowing Details of Death

KARACHI: The mystery surrounding the tragic death of Pakistani model and actor Humaira Asghar has deepened after the release of her post-mortem report, which confirms she may have died in her Defence Phase VI flat eight to ten months ago, unnoticed by anyone.

According to police sources and Dr. Summaiya Syed, Karachi’s Police Surgeon, the body was found in an extreme state of decomposition when officers broke into her fourth-floor apartment last week to enforce a court-ordered eviction over unpaid rent.

The detailed post-mortem findings paint a haunting picture. Facial muscles were completely gone, fingers and nails had reduced to skeletal remains, large portions of soft tissue were missing, and some bones disintegrated on touch — indicating the passage of many months without discovery. The internal organs had turned into a dark, unidentifiable mass, and the brain matter had fully broken down.

Unusually, no signs of physical trauma were detected — no bone fractures or visible injuries that would directly explain her death. The head and spine were structurally intact, but the spinal cord was no longer present. Investigators also found brown insects in her hair but noted an absence of maggots, which experts say points to a long period of decay in a closed environment.

DNA and Toxicology Tests Underway

Due to the condition of the remains, the exact cause of death is still a mystery. DNA profiling and toxicology tests have been launched to check for any toxins, foul play, or substances that might have contributed to her sudden demise. Forensic experts have collected samples of hair, clothing fibers, and whatever biological material could be recovered for further chemical analysis.

No Contact for Months

Humaira Asghar, who rose to fame with her stint in the reality show Tamasha Ghar and a small role in the film Jalaibee, had reportedly lived alone in the apartment for nearly seven years. Local residents told police that she kept to herself and had little to no interaction with neighbors.

Preliminary investigations suggest that she was last in touch with her family in October 2024 — nearly ten months ago. Neighbors said they began noticing a foul smell, but because the apartment next door had been vacant until earlier this year, no one suspected a tragedy of this scale.

It wasn’t until the landlord, frustrated by non-payment of rent since April 2024, secured a court order to evict her that the horrifying discovery was made. Police, along with a court bailiff, forced entry and found her remains on the floor, the doors locked from inside.

Family Hesitated to Claim Body

After the post-mortem, Humaira’s body was transferred to a local welfare morgue while legal formalities were completed. Humaira Asghar brother eventually arrived from Lahore to receive the remains, but reports suggest the family initially hesitated to claim the body due to its shocking condition. The remains were finally transported by ambulance to Lahore, where she was laid to rest.

Another Isolated Tragedy

Humaira Asghar’s tragic story has stirred painful memories of Ayesha Khan, a veteran actress who was also found dead in isolation in her Karachi apartment just weeks ago. Both cases have sparked renewed debate about the loneliness and mental health challenges faced by artists and public figures, especially women, in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

Social workers and civil society members are now urging communities and families to check on loved ones living alone — to ensure that such tragedies do not go unnoticed for months.

Stay connected for further updates as DNA and toxicology reports may reveal what really happened to Humaira Asghar, whose sudden, lonely passing has shaken many in the entertainment fraternity.
