Humaira Asghar Body Shifted to Lahore for Burial
Lahore, July 11, 2025 — The body of actress and model Humaira Asghar, who was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Defence Phase VI earlier this week, has been shifted to Lahore for burial after the completion of legal formalities.
According to family sources, Humaira Asghar’s brother received her body from the Chhipa morgue in Karachi last night and arranged for its transportation to Lahore. Her funeral prayer will be offered today in Green Town, Lahore, with family, friends and industry colleagues expected to attend.
Speaking to the media, Humaira’s brother confirmed that he had last spoken to her nearly 10 months ago. He stated that due to the sudden death of a close relative, the family could not immediately travel to Karachi, resulting in a delay in claiming her body. He added that they remained in contact with the Karachi police throughout the process and ensured all legal steps were followed.
Police officials, meanwhile, said that the investigation into Humaira Asghar’s death remains ongoing. The deceased actress’s mobile phone data and call detail records (CDR) have been retrieved. A cab driver and other individuals listed in her last contacts are being questioned as part of the probe to establish a timeline and possible cause of death.
Humaira’s decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, when Gizri Police, accompanied by a court bailiff, broke into her fourth-floor apartment in Ittehad Commercial Area to enforce an eviction order following months of unpaid rent. Neighbors had earlier reported a foul odor in the building, but the presence of a vacant adjacent flat delayed detection for months. Both the main entrance and balcony doors were locked from the inside, and no immediate signs of foul play were found.
Humaira Asghar, 32, rose to fame through modeling, drama serials, and her participation in the reality show Tamasha Ghar. She was also known for her work as a painter and sculptor. Her last social media post dates back to September 30, 2024.
Police have indicated that the final cause of death will be confirmed after forensic, DNA, and chemical analysis reports are completed. The sudden passing has sparked widespread grief in the entertainment industry and raised fresh questions about the mental health challenges faced by public figures.
