The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that people won’t be allowed to get permits for doing two or more Umrahs during Ramadan. They’re asking everyone to only do one Umrah during this special month.
The ministry says this rule is to make sure there’s not too much crowding, and to give more people a chance to do Umrah. It’s also to help manage the crowds better.
Nusuk, which is a platform run by the Saudi government for managing Umrah electronically, says that if someone tries to get a permit for a second Umrah during Ramadan, they’ll get a message saying they can’t do it. This is because they want everyone to have a chance to do Umrah, and it’s not allowed to do it more than once during Ramadan, “The permit issuance fails. To give everyone the chance to perform Umrah, the lesser pilgrimage can’t be repeated in Ramadan.”
