PTI denies involvement in violent protests, terms ISPR statement against ground realities

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday declared the press release of the public relations department of the Pakistan Army as “inconsistent with the facts,” stating that the release is not based on the ground realities.

The Party categorically said that it had nothing to do with the violent incidents took place on May 9.  The PTI’s response came a day after the military’s media wing termed the violent protests and clashes ensued ‘a black chapter in the history’.

According to PTI, the press release is a regrettable collection of statements based on hatred and revenge against Pakistan’s most credible and largest political party.

The PTI said that it is a democratic party with a firm commitment to peace and strict adherence to the constitution, principles, and manifesto, and is confident in achieving its objectives. PTI and its chairman Imran Khan have the protection of the constitution, the rule of law, and the political, economic, and social rights of the Pakistani people their goals.

The PTI statement further stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf became the center and focus of the nation’s aspirations and hopes, with millions of members and voters, and Imran Khan’s political ideology and philosophy receiving widespread approval and support from the public.

From a single seat in the National Assembly, PTI’s journey of governance progressed step by step to become the ruling party in the center, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and today it is the only political party in Pakistan to hold this position, it sad.

It also said that on May 9, after being arrested from the Islamabad High Court, PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s public reaction is linked to the elements that he had been identifying for the past 13 months, and the nation’s largest party and its leadership had been born out of efforts to crush them. The bitterness that has been born in the public as a result of these efforts, which the state has been ignoring, is evident.

PTI stated in the statement that the party considered the  individuals and institutions equally responsible for upholding the law, and therefore, it is necessary to adhere to the limits of the constitution instead of deviating from the orders, and the constitution should be given decision-making status, leaving behind the method of depriving the people of their rights.
