Punjab govt calls in Pak Army to control law and order situation

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Wednesday obtained the services of the Pakistan Army in a bid to maintain peace and security in the province after arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Al-Qadir Trust case.

. The request for the deployment of troops was made by the Punjab Home department, which was approved by the federal Ministry of Interior.

According to the Department of Interior, the Pakistan Army have been handed over to the Punjab government for the establishment of peace and security. The sources said that the army would work in collaboration with the district administration to ensure peace and security in the province.
