Pakistani culture exhibition attracts visitors in Washington embassy

WASHINGTON: The Pakistan Embassy in Washington on Monday hosted an exhibition showcasing the beauty and elegance of Pakistani culture as part of the Passport DC’s annual “Around the Embassy Tour” program.

The exhibition offered visitors a chance to explore Pakistani culture through its world-renowned truck art, traditional clothes, precious gems, art, artifacts, furniture, rugs, carpets, and delectable cuisine.

Over 3,000 visitors, including US citizens, members of the Pak-American community, diplomatic corps, officials, think-tank community, non-governmental bodies, and media persons, attended the exhibition, marveling at the richness and diversity of Pakistani culture.

The exhibition showcased the soft power of Pakistan, with various corners of the ground floor and the Jamshed Marker Hall of the Embassy exhibiting the country’s beauty and diversity in the backdrop of instrumental Pakistani music.

The exhibition featured a range of stalls, including traditional and non-traditional stitched and unstitched designer clothes, bridal dresses, gems, and jewelry, hand-knotted rugs, carpets, Chinioti furniture, artifacts and paintings, music instruments, footwear (Peshawari Chappal), and different spices that are known for adding unique taste and aroma to Pakistani cuisine. Additionally, the IT sector was also on display, reflecting the immense youth potential of the country in providing innovative digital IT solutions to expanding businesses across the globe.

Visitors were thrilled by the display of Truck Art of Pakistan, painted over a Rickshaw and a Scooter, taking selfies and sharing their stories with friends and family.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, expressed his gratitude to visitors for their enthusiastic participation. He visited different stalls and introduced Pakistani specialties to visitors. The Ambassador highlighted the salient features of Pakistan, making it an ideal destination for economic activity, investment, and tourism.

The exhibition left a lasting impression on visitors, with many expressing their desire to visit Pakistan to enrich their experience even further. Overall, the exhibition provided a unique opportunity for visitors to explore Pakistani culture and learn more about the country’s beauty and diversity.
