Police raid PTI President Pervaiz Ealhi’s Gujrat residence

GUJRAT: Former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhary Pervez Elahi’s residence in Gujrat was raided by police late at night, the sources said on Tuesday.

The Sources said that the police raided the Kunjah House residence of former Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in Gujrat, scaling walls and entering the house. They said the police officials searched all the rooms of the residence and questioned the staff, continuously asking about Pervez Elahi’s whereabouts, but he was not there at home. After a while, they left.

The police raided the house of Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi after raiding his Lahore residence. Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, the PML-Q chief, however, strongly condemned raid at his residence to arrest Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi.

The sources said that three employees who were taken into custody from Kunjah house were set free after questioning. In addition, the police also raided the residence of Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain in Gujrat, but after searching and questioning the staff, they left without any further action. Police officials scaled the walls of the Natt House and entered the premises.

On the other hand, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s son, Moonis Elahi, also issued a statement on his Twitter account, saying that the police once again raided their residence. He shared the video and showed that the police were stationed outside Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s residence.

He stated that the police did not have search warrants to conduct raid at the house.

According to the reports, the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) said that they had nothing to do with the raids as they did conduct any raid at the residence of Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi.

“It was the police and not the ACE officials outside Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi’ shouse,” it added.
