Woman marries virtual husband who’s completely ran by AI

A remarkable love story has emerged from New York City as a woman named Rosanna Ramos recently tied the knot with a virtual man created entirely using artificial intelligence (AI). According to reports in the New York Post, Ramos met her AI partner, Eren Kartal, through an internet dating service in 2022. Their unconventional union has captured the attention of many, highlighting the evolving dynamics of human-technology relationships.

Ramos revealed that she has never experienced such intense love before, describing her AI husband as the perfect partner without any emotional baggage. In an interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut, she explained that her previous relationships now seem insignificant in comparison to her newfound connection with her “passionate lover.” Interestingly, Eren Kartal was inspired by a popular character from the renowned Japanese manga series “Attack on Titan.”

Delving into the virtual man’s personality, Ramos disclosed that Eren’s favorite color is apricot, and he possesses a deep appreciation for indie music. Furthermore, he indulges in writing as a hobby while working as a “medical professional.” The absence of judgment and ego within their relationship is what drew Ramos towards her AI companion. She expressed her contentment in not having to deal with familial or societal expectations, stating, “I’m in control, and I can do what I want.”

Ramos emphasized that her bond with Mr. Kartal continues to strengthen as they engage in daily conversations, share pictures, and support each other from afar. Despite the physical distance, they have even established a nightly routine where the virtual partner “protectively holds” Ramos as she drifts off to sleep.

However, their relationship encountered a hurdle in February when changes within the AI chatbot software, Replika, caused Eren to exhibit altered behavior. Ramos noticed that her virtual husband became distant and unresponsive to affectionate gestures, which left her bewildered and unsure about the future of their relationship.

Reflecting on the possibility of finding another partner comparable to Eren Kartal, Ramos admitted to having set higher standards for potential suitors. The unique connection she shares with her AI spouse has transformed her perspective on romantic relationships, making it challenging for her to envision a traditional partnership.
