Winning World Cup in India will be the Biggest Slap on BCCI: Shahid Afridi

Winning World Cup in India Would Be a ‘Slap’ on BCCI

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has said that winning the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India would be a “slap” on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Afridi made the comments in an interview with Samaa TV on Saturday. He said that Pakistan would have to play “smart cricket” if they wanted to win the World Cup in India.

“It will be a big slap on the BCCI if Pakistan wins the World Cup in India,” Afridi said. “We will have to play smart cricket and not give any room for the Indian team to come back into the game.”

Afridi also said that Pakistan would have to be mentally prepared to face the pressure of playing in India. He said that the Pakistani team would have to be “united” and “focused” if they wanted to win the World Cup.

The 2023 Cricket World Cup will be hosted by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The tournament will be played from October 8 to November 23, 2023.

Pakistan has never won the Cricket World Cup. They have reached the final of the tournament once, in 2007.

The BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world. It is also the most powerful cricket board in the world. The BCCI has a lot of influence over the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Afridi’s comments are likely to be seen as a dig at the BCCI. He is suggesting that Pakistan can beat India in India and win the World Cup. This would be a major upset, as India is the current world number one team.

It remains to be seen if Pakistan can win the World Cup in India. However, Afridi’s comments have certainly raised the stakes for the tournament.
