Sindh Government Introduces Free Wi-Fi Service: Here’s How to Connect

The city of Rohri in Sindh has taken a bold stride by introducing a free Wi-Fi service, becoming a pioneer in the region. This visionary move is championed by the District Council Sukkur, aiming to bridge the digital divide and empower the community, particularly focusing on students who require easy access to educational resources.

In an effort reminiscent of a similar project in Karachi, Chairman of District Council Sukkur, Syed Kumail Haider Shah, officially inaugurated the free Wi-Fi pilot project. Utilizing the platform formerly known as Twitter, now named Via X, Chairman Shah highlighted the transformative potential of this initiative for students across Sindh. The provision of unfettered access to high-quality educational content could be a game-changer for young learners.

One of the standout features of this newly introduced Wi-Fi service is its impressive speed, clocking in at a remarkable 3 Mbps. This ensures that a significant number of users can simultaneously connect without compromising the connection quality.

Chairman Shah expressed his satisfaction in fulfilling the promises made to the residents of Rohri. He emphasized the importance of harnessing technology to uplift the community and improve access to information.

Looking ahead, Chairman Shah unveiled plans for expanding this project’s coverage. Should the pilot project prove fruitful, both Sukkur and Rohri will enjoy an extended reach of free Wi-Fi, enabling even more people to reap its benefits.
