Sher Afzal Marwat must join another party: Aleema Khan
ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has categorically rejected Sher Afzal Marwat’s association with PTI, stating that he no longer has any connection to the party.
Speaking to the media after securing bail for her son, Aleema said that if her son could be released, then all political prisoners deserved the same treatment. She also reiterated that the sentence handed down to Imran Khan was unlawful and should be overturned.
Responding to a question regarding Sher Afzal Marwat’s role in PTI, Aleema clarified that he was expelled by Imran Khan himself and therefore had no standing in the party. She stressed that there was no need to respond to his statements and suggested that Marwat should join another political party instead of making remarks about PTI’s internal affairs.
Aleema also took the opportunity to address rumors regarding Imran Khan’s health, terming them baseless and misleading. She confirmed that the PTI founder was in stable condition and emphasized that any medical check-up should be conducted in the presence of his personal doctors to ensure transparency.
Her sister, Uzma Khan, who is a doctor, had also inquired about Imran Khan’s health, further confirming his well-being. Aleema added that only PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was allowed to meet the incarcerated leader, highlighting the restricted access around him.
She further clarified that there was no disagreement with lawyer Salman Akram Raja, saying he remained part of their legal team and was considered “like family.”
