Shah Rukh Khan Addresses Allegations of Assisting in Release of Indian Navy Officers in Qatar

Former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has made a surprising revelation, stating that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan played a crucial role in securing the release of eight Indians who were facing death sentences in Qatar.

According to Swamy, when efforts by top Indian officials failed to persuade Qatar to release the former Indian Navy officials, it was Shah Rukh Khan who successfully intervened and negotiated their safe release.

Swamy mentioned in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested Khan’s assistance after the Ministry of External Affairs and the National Security Advisor were unsuccessful in their attempts. This led to a favorable settlement with the Qatari authorities, resulting in the release of the Indian naval officers.

Swamy’s statement came in response to a tweet by Prime Minister Modi, who announced his upcoming visits to the UAE and Qatar to strengthen India’s bilateral relations with these countries. Modi expressed excitement about his visit, which included various programs and meetings with leaders from both nations.

Following Swamy’s tweet, the internet buzzed with gratitude towards Shah Rukh Khan, as people recognized and appreciated his efforts in securing the release of the Indian nationals from Qatar.

Shah Rukh Khan’s team has refuted claims of his involvement in the release of Indian naval officers from Qatar. They stated that any reports suggesting his role are untrue. They emphasized that the successful resolution was solely managed by Indian government officials. The team highlighted that matters of diplomacy are best handled by government leaders. Shah Rukh Khan, like many other Indians, is pleased that the naval officers are safe and wishes them well.

The Bollywood star recently visited Doha, Qatar’s capital, as a special guest for the AFC final. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi, currently in the UAE, will visit Qatar on Wednesday to discuss enhancing relations between the two countries.
