The General Presidency for the Affairs of Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Al-Nabawi is taking important steps to prepare for the changing of Ghilaf-e-Kaaba, the cover of the Holy Kaaba. The goal is to maintain the sanctity of this sacred site. To achieve this, the Presidency is carefully evaluating the skills and experience of the craftsmen, engineers, and technicians involved in the process.
The Presidency has also organized special training sessions for the 15 employees who will be responsible for transforming and ensuring the quality of the cover. Engineer Amjad Al-Hazmi, the Under-Secretary of King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kaaba, announced that all necessary preparations have been successfully completed for the transformation, which will take place as the new Islamic year, 1445 Hijri, approaches.
Al-Hazmi assured that the transformation process will adhere to comprehensive operational plans, ensuring that it is completed on time and to the highest standards of excellence. He expressed confidence in the employees of the complex, highlighting their capabilities, expertise, and precision, which will undoubtedly result in an awe-inspiring and magnificent appearance for the new Kaaba cover.
Focusing on the care and preservation of the Kaaba’s Kiswa, Fahad Al-Jabri, the Director of General Administration, shared the administration’s proactive approach to organizing training sessions and fostering cooperation among all departments. The aim of these training initiatives is to enhance the abilities and skills of the employees, ensuring they are fully prepared to carry out their duties effectively and develop additional skills as needed.
Al-Jabri emphasized that daily training sessions are being conducted, with 15 participants dedicating approximately four hours each day. Additionally, seven cranes have been strategically positioned around the Holy Kaaba to facilitate the transformation process.
