Rawalpindi Commissioner Resigns, Confesses to Election Rigging to Swing Results

Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha resigned from his position on Saturday, citing allegations of election rigging in the 2024 elections. During a press conference, he admitted to the rigging and surrendered to the police, taking responsibility for his actions.

Chatha acknowledged that rigging occurred during the elections, revealing that candidates who initially had a lead of over 70,000 votes in their constituencies were declared losers due to the use of fake seals, which happened under his supervision.

He expressed regret to his subordinates, stating that he felt sorry for forcing them to engage in rigging activities. Chatha mentioned that his subordinates were upset when they were instructed to carry out the rigging.
