PTI Removes 12 Members, Including Usman Buzdar, from Party

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a strict action against 12 of its members, which includes the former Punjab chief minister, Usman Buzdar. The termination notices were issued on Tuesday by PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, and they were sent to those who had defected from the party and publicly announced their disassociation through press conferences or video messages following incidents that occurred on May 9.

The list of terminated members comprises Salman Khan Gadoka, Sabeen Gul, Raja Muhammad Saleem, Prince Bahawal Khan Abbasi, Muhammad Zaheer ud Din Khan Alizai, Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik, Muhammad Akhtar Malik, Muhammad Afzal, Usman Buzdar, Syed Nadeem Zaman Shah, Syed Muhammad Asghar Shah, and Sardar Muhammad Khan Laghari.

The notice of termination explicitly states that their basic membership from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been terminated immediately. Moreover, they are strictly directed to refrain from using the party’s name, designation, and membership in any manner whatsoever. Failure to comply with this directive may result in further action by the party, including the possibility of legal consequences.

This move by PTI reflects its zero-tolerance policy towards party members who choose to publicly dissociate themselves from the party. While party members are encouraged to express their concerns and grievances within the party forums, publicly disavowing the party is seen as a breach of loyalty and unity.

Usman Buzdar’s removal, in particular, has attracted significant attention, considering his former role as the chief minister of Punjab, one of the most prominent provinces in Pakistan. However, PTI’s leadership seems determined to maintain discipline and uphold the party’s principles and values.

PTI’s decision to terminate the membership of these 12 individuals may have significant repercussions for their political careers. It could limit their ability to participate in future party activities and possibly affect their standing in the political landscape.

As the political climate in Pakistan remains dynamic, PTI’s actions to maintain party loyalty and discipline could set a precedent for other political parties in the country. However, it also raises questions about freedom of expression within political parties and the boundaries that need to be respected by both party members and leaders.

Overall, PTI’s move to terminate the membership of 12 members, including a prominent figure like Usman Buzdar, sends a clear message about the party’s stance on party discipline and loyalty. The aftermath of this decision will be closely observed by political observers and enthusiasts alike.
