ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the formation of a committee to investigate the audio leak involving the son of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and a PTI ticket aspirant from PP-137. The announcement came after a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) meeting, which was attended by senior party leaders and chaired by the prime minister. The meeting discussed the country’s current political situation and reviewed court proceedings in detail.

During the meeting, the attendees were briefed on constitutional issues by the Minister for Law, Azam Nazeer Tarar. They expressed their determination to prevent any interference in parliamentary affairs and agreed to continue using the parliamentary forum efficiently.

Earlier on April 30, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that no evidence of corruption was found in the alleged audio leak featuring Najam Saqib and PTI candidate Abuzar Chadhar for PP-137 for the upcoming elections in Punjab.

The PTI leaders said that a complete probe was conducted in the alleged audio leak of the PTI candidate Abuzar Chadhar and Najam Saqib, son of former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar. The PTI gave clean chit to its candidate Chadhar after the in-house findings.
