PCB Supports Babar Azam and Pakistan Team Amid World Cup Challenges

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated its support for Captain Babar Azam and the team management amidst criticism following three successive losses at the World Cup.

In light of the national team’s challenging run in the ICC World Cup 2023, the PCB understands the emotions and sentiments of cricket fans. The board administration hopes that fans and the cricketing community will continue to support Captain Babar Azam and the entire Pakistan cricket team.

Despite the setbacks, the national team still has four crucial matches ahead in the round-robin stage. The PCB remains optimistic that the team will regroup, bounce back, and perform well in the upcoming fixtures.

Regarding media scrutiny, the PCB emphasized that both successes and defeats are part of the game. Captain Babar Azam and Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq had the freedom and support to shape the squad for the ICC World Cup 2023.

The PCB also made it clear that they would base future decisions on what is best for Pakistan cricket, considering the team’s performances in the World Cup.

At present, the PCB encourages fans, former players, and stakeholders to stand behind the team as they aim to make a successful comeback in the mega-event.

The Pakistan team currently holds the fifth position on the points table, having experienced defeats against Afghanistan, Australia, and India. They need to win all remaining matches to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

Next, Pakistan is set to face South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 27, Friday. South Africa has been a tough team in the tournament, winning four out of the five matches they’ve played.

With three consecutive defeats, concerns have arisen about the morale within the Pakistan camp.
