Moonis and Parvez Elahi claim to be still with Imran Khan.
In the wake of recent events that led to several members parting ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, PTI President Parvez Elahi reaffirmed his unwavering support for Imran Khan, declaring, “We stand with Imran Khan and will continue to stand.” Parvez Elahi, the former Punjab chief minister, joined PTI in February, along with ten other former MPAs from the Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q).
In a video message, Parvez Elahi reiterated his and his son Moonis’ steadfast commitment to Imran Khan, even after his family member, Chaudhry Wajahat, decided to leave the party. He expressed his belief that since Imran Khan had fulfilled his promises to them, it was their solemn duty to stand firmly by him during challenging times.
Parvez Elahi recalled his appointment as the chief minister, which instilled a strong sense of loyalty towards Imran Khan within him. However, when he was requested to step down from the position, he willingly sacrificed it without hesitation. He made it clear that he held no ill will towards Wajahat Hussain, understanding that people make decisions based on their own circumstances.
The PTI president emphasized the unity of the party, comparing it to a solid wall, and assured that this unity would persist in the future. He highlighted that the distribution of positions and power rests solely in the hands of Allah, who bestows such roles as He sees fit. Time itself is controlled by Allah, and He determines the course of events.
Parvez Elahi stressed the significance of the Pakistan Army as a cherished institution and reiterated his deep-rooted connection to his homeland. He clarified that any misunderstandings should be viewed as separate issues, highlighting his consistent efforts to foster a positive relationship with the army and the establishment.
