Excise department issues notice to Imran Khan to pay tax on Zaman Park house

Imran Khan receives a notification from the excise department to pay tax on the Zaman Park house.

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has issued a luxury tax notice to Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), demanding a payment of Rs1.4 million for his Zaman Park house.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been sent a notice by the excise department, instructing him to pay Rs1.4 million as luxury tax for his Zaman Park residence.

The deadline for payment is today, but if the tax is not submitted on time, another notice will be issued.

According to the excise department, Imran Khan, along with his four sisters, owns the house in Zaman Park that is mentioned in the notice.

This is not the first time Imran Khan has been served with a notice regarding luxury tax. In April, he received a notice demanding the settlement of arrears amounting to Rs3.6 million.

The notice warns that if the outstanding amount is not cleared within a week, the matter will be referred to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
