Pakistan’s cricket star, Shaheen Shah Afridi, got married to Ansha Afridi in a quiet wedding ceremony on Tuesday, in Karachi. The 23-year-old fast bowler married the second daughter of former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi in a simple nikah ceremony earlier this year.
For the Rukhsati event, Shaheen arrived with his family and friends. Many popular guests were be seen in the event, including Pakistani captain Babar Azam and former cricketers Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwer, Sohail Khan, and Tanveer Ahmed.
Babar wore a navy-blue prince coat, black pants, and black loafers. Earlier, Shaheen Afridi shared a photo with captain Babar Azam, putting to rest any rumors of a rift between them. There were reports of tension and arguments between the two after Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 knockout match last week. In the photo on X social media, Shaheen Afridi captioned it as ‘family’ with a heart emoji.
Shaheen looked elegant in a white kurta, straight trousers, and a golden embellished prince coat, along with brown loafers. Shahid Afridi, the father of the bride, wore a fawn-colored kurta, trousers, and a brown waistcoat.
The couple got engaged two years ago, and their Valima ceremony is scheduled for September 21 in Islamabad.
In an interview, Shaheen revealed that he was the one who proposed to Ansha. He mentioned that both families knew each other, and their elders were familiar, so the proposal went smoothly.
As for where they first met, Shaheen couldn’t pinpoint a specific moment because they had known each other for a while. They exchanged their wedding vows in a private nikah ceremony attended by many well-known personalities.
Shaheen expressed his gratitude for having a life partner who appreciates and supports him, even though she doesn’t get involved too much in the spotlight.
