Imran Khan warns of PDM ‘goons’ trying to take over Supreme Court

Imran Khan sounds alarmed on PDM ‘goons’ attempting to take over Supreme Court

Former Prime Minister and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Imran Khan, has accused members of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) of attempting to take over the country’s Supreme Court while simultaneously clamping down on PTI workers. Speaking at a press conference, Khan stated that PDM “goons” were working in collusion with security agencies to subvert the constitution, while the government was arresting thousands of PTI workers and killing unarmed protestors.

Khan also claimed that plans were being made to ban his party, which he described as the “largest and only federal party” in Pakistan. He called on all citizens to be prepared for peaceful protests, warning that the destruction of the Constitution and the Supreme Court would spell the end of Pakistan’s dreams.

This latest outburst from Imran Khan comes amid a tense political climate in Pakistan. The PDM, a coalition of opposition parties, has been staging protests across the country in an attempt to topple the government led by Khan’s PTI party. The government, in turn, has responded with a heavy-handed crackdown on protestors and opposition figures.

The situation has led to widespread criticism both at home and abroad, with many observers expressing concern about the erosion of democratic norms and the use of force to suppress dissent. It remains to be seen how the situation will play out, but it is clear that tensions are high and that both sides are digging in for a protracted struggle.
