Imran Khan skips NAB hearing in Al-Qadir Trust case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has responded to the summons from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by stating that he cannot appear before May 22. Khan explained that he is currently in Lahore seeking pre-arrest bail in multiple cases, and the Islamabad High Court has granted him bail until May 22.
Khan firmly maintained that the allegations mentioned in the summons notice are false, frivolous, and baseless. He argued that there is no basis for a corruption case, and he criticized the NAB for conducting the inquiry and investigation in a manner that does not adhere to the law. Furthermore, Khan stated that he does not possess the documents that the NAB is seeking, refuting any claims of intentionally avoiding the inquiry.
In his response, Khan also requested the NAB to return his personal belongings, including a shaving kit, clothes, and the inquiry report, which he claims were left behind when he was in NAB custody.
Additionally, Khan alleged that 25 individuals lost their lives due to police firing, suggesting a potential connection to the ongoing situation.
Earlier, both Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, failed to appear before the NAB for an inquiry related to 190 million pounds. Despite being issued summons in the case, the couple did not show up at the NAB’s Rawalpindi office as instructed. Bushra Bibi was specifically asked to bring the complete case record pertaining to the inquiry into 190 million pounds. The NAB has also sent a questionnaire containing 20 questions regarding the inquiry to both Khan and Bushra Bibi.
