IMF Ready To Collaborate With New Pakistani Government, Ignores Imran Khan’s Demand

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has shown its willingness to collaborate with the new government in Pakistan, disregarding Imran Khan’s request for an election results audit before approving any new loans.

According to Julie Kozack, the Director of Communications at the IMF, the Standby Arrangement (SBA) has seen total disbursements of $1.9 billion by January 11.

This program aims to support the government’s efforts in stabilizing the economy, with a particular focus on protecting vulnerable populations. Kozack also praised the caretaker government for maintaining economic stability during their tenure.

While not delving into Pakistan’s current political complexities, Kozack emphasized the IMF’s commitment to economic stability and safeguarding vulnerable sectors.
