Govt dealing cases of May 9 rioters under due law process: PM

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed on Monday that every case pertaining to the violence committed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on May 9 would be dealt with in accordance with due process under the law. Taking to Twitter, Sharif assured the public that the culprits responsible for the unrest would face legal consequences, while also emphasizing his commitment to upholding constitutional and international obligations on human rights.

Denouncement of Misinformation:

Sharif criticized PTI chief Imran Niazi for spreading misinformation during his interviews with international media outlets. He accused Niazi of deliberately misleading both local and foreign audiences through “glib-talk laced with fake news and plain misrepresentation.” The Prime Minister categorically stated that Niazi’s depiction of the post-May 9 events as “human rights abuses” and “stifling of the right to political protest” was not only misleading but also aimed at manipulating opinion-makers outside the country.

Sharif firmly described the actions of PTI on May 9 as a “brazen attack on the State of Pakistan, with malafide intent and sinister objectives.” He emphasized that no country in the world would tolerate such an attempt to undermine its integrity.
