- Fawad Chaudhry’s decision to break away from Imran Khan and “take a break from politics”
Fawad Chaudhry, an important leader in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his resignation from the party over the violence that took place on May 9 when party members and supporters stormed government and defence institutions all throughout the nation.
As a result of the violence on May 9, he made a statement on Wednesday saying, “I am parting ways with Imran Khan and stepping down from party position.”
The main spokesperson for the former ruling party mentioned his earlier comment on Twitter, in which he “unequivocally condemned” the violent rallies on May 9 that were brought on by Imran Khan’s imprisonment in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
He continued by saying that he had made the decision to step away from politics “and part ways from Imran Khan.”
