RAWALPINDI: Eight terrorists were gunned down during an exchange of fire with the security forces in South Waziristan operation on Wednesday, said ISPR.
The military’s media wing stated that the terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Shinwarsak area.
An operation was carried out against terrorists, resulting in a fierce gun battle. Jan Muhammad, also known as Charagh, and eight other terrorists were killed. The security forces seized a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, said the ISPR.
The slain terrorists were known for their involvement in terrorist activities against the security forces and civilians.
During the gunfight, Sepoy Hamid Rasool, a 31-year-old resident of District Rawalpindi, fought bravely but was martyred. Two officers and two other personnel were injured in the exchange of fire.
Despite the loss of a brave soldier, the security forces of Pakistan remain committed to eradicating terrorism. Such sacrifices only serve to strengthen their determination, concluded the ISPR.
