National Assembly to be Dissolved on 9th August Night, Says Rana Sanaullah

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has announced that the Assembly will be dissolved on the night of 9th August. He emphasized that elections will not be postponed under any conspiracy or for any special purpose.

The interior minister clarified that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) did not propose Ishaq Dar’s name. He stated that all political parties agree that the caretaker prime minister should be a politician.

Regarding the candidates for the caretaker prime minister position, Rana Sanaullah mentioned the names of Ishaq Dar from PML-N and Raza Rabbani from PPP as possible considerations.

However, he expressed concerns about the accuracy and acceptability of the new census, saying that there are several problems with it. He declared that the new census results would not be notified as valid.

Furthermore, Rana Sanaullah endorsed Raja Riaz as a strong candidate and promised to offer him the ticket for the position.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had considered Ishaq Dar as a potential candidate for the caretaker prime minister. Dar, who currently serves as the finance minister, is known to be a close ally of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

PML-N is currently in talks with its allies in the ruling coalition to reach a consensus on the caretaker prime minister’s name. However, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) strongly opposed the nomination of Ishaq Dar.

In response, Ishaq Dar expressed surprise at the reactions to his name being discussed for the caretaker prime minister slot. He pledged to accept whatever decision the PML-N leadership takes regarding the caretaker prime minister.

Dar emphasized the importance of empowering the caretaker government for the smooth functioning of Pakistan and asserted that there should be no possibility of postponing the elections.

He also proposed extending the duration of the caretaker government to 90 days instead of the usual 60 days, believing it would better serve the country.

As the political parties continue to negotiate and debate the suitable candidates for the caretaker prime minister position, the dissolution of the Assembly on 9th August draws closer. The upcoming developments in the political landscape will undoubtedly have a significant impact on Pakistan’s future governance and electoral process.
